Complete Geothermal Heating Solutions in Nova Scotia

Every property has different heating requirements. Understanding the available geothermal system configurations helps you identify which options may work for your home. Explore different system designs, installation requirements, and potential energy-saving benefits to find a solution that suits your property and comfort needs.

1

Unsuitable Ground-Loop Design

Ground conditions, available space, drilling access, and soil characteristics all influence loop design. Assessing these factors early helps determine a suitable configuration for your property. Proper planning can also help minimize installation complications and support dependable long-term system performance.

2

Incorrect Heating Capacity

Choosing the right system capacity depends on your home’s heat loss, insulation, layout, and heating distribution. Proper calculations support reliable performance and indoor comfort. A correctly sized system can also reduce energy consumption and improve temperature control throughout your home.

3

Unexpected Site Preparation Costs

Limited access, underground utilities, challenging soil, and landscaping requirements can increase installation costs. Evaluating these factors beforehand helps you plan your budget and avoid unexpected expenses. Early site inspections can identify potential obstacles and make project planning more predictable.

4

Choosing the Wrong Heating Technology

Geothermal is not always the best option for every property. Comparing ground-source systems with cold-climate air-source heat pumps can help you balance upfront costs and operating expenses. Considering your property’s layout, heating demands, and long-term plans can help you select a suitable solution.

MADA came to our house to check it for heatpumps on Sept.21 and at 9:00 on the 28th they installed one in the living room and one in the basement. They were finished cleaned any mess on the floors and explained how they worked and were out of here before 11.20. They also put in a pony electrical box. We were very impressed with their work. We have never encountered such a friendly and efficient group from start to finish. Also had a great price. Excellent service all around.

We had a great experience with Madda, and we especially want to recognize Eddy for his outstanding support throughout the entire process of having our heat pumps installed. We started the process last fall and, unfortunately, there were significant delays along the way due to a number of factors outside of Madda’s control, including electrical work, drywall, siding and insulation contractors, including a 4 month delays with NS Power. What could have been a very frustrating and stressful experience was made much easier because of Eddy. Eddy was incredibly patient, understanding, and professional from beginning to end. He stayed in regular contact with us, checking in weekly or every couple of weeks to keep us updated and make sure we knew what was happening. He was always approachable, listened to our concerns, and never made us feel like we had been forgotten. Eddy also completed the grant application process and financing for us,which was extremely helpful and made the whole process much easier to manage. He took the time to answer our questions and guide us through the different steps. After about nine months from when we first contacted the company ( once again out on f their control), we got everything completed. Once the house was ready, the heat pump installation itself went very smoothly, and we are very happy to have the job finished. We truly appreciate Eddy’s dedication, communication, patience, and understanding throughout what turned into a much longer process than we originally expected due to difficulties with contractors etc! He continued to stay in touch and support us the entire way, and that really made a difference. Thank you, Eddy, and thank you to the entire Madda team for being patient and understanding during this long process! We are very happy with our new heat pumps and would definitely recommend Madda to others.
